KARATE INTERNATIONAL BLACK BELT SCHOOLS

MULTI STYLE SEMINAR - NOVEMBER 2006

Karate International Black Belt Schools held a multi style seminar on Saturday 18th November 2006 at Carnegie Sports Centre, Leeds University in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The instructors on the course where Sensei Peter Clarke 5th Dan of Kodakan Jiu Jitsu (Leeds), Sensei Martin Wilson 5th Dan of Providence Shotokan Karate Club (Sheffield), Sensei Grant Naylor 4th Dan of K.I.C.K.S Kickboxing (Leeds), Sensei Mehrdad Kahani 2nd Dan KUGB, Sensei Nick Beech 1st Dan Okinawan Kobudo & Karate (Leeds -KIBBS) and myself Sensei Steve Leak 4th Dan Shotokan Karate (Leeds - KIBBS).

There where over forty students in attendance and they where all full of enthusiasm. They where introduced to martial arts they had never tried before. The purpose of the seminar is to break down the barriers of distrust amongst instructors and students. To encourage friendship and openness without political agenda. I feel that this was achieved on the day with ALL instructors giving 100% to all that attended and new friendships being formed.

It is planned to hold another seminar in March 2006 and I hope that more people will be able to join us. These events are open to all regardless of affiliation, grade, age, gender, or ability.
